Davey Hill is back again in the last installment of The Klondike Kid.
Searching for his uncle, after the death of his mother has led Davey to the Klondike. He arrived in Gold Town after an exciting
ride on the Yukon River, only to find that locating his uncle is harder than he thought due to the sheer number newcomers
who have come to mine for gold. Thanks to old and new friends, he doesn’t have time to worry! So what does Davey do?
Does he ever find his uncle? That’s something this reviewer isn’t going to tell!
Deborah Hopkinson has written a wonderfully interesting book about going
to the Klondike to pan for gold. It has plenty of adventures for future gold miner and realistic facts for history buffs.
Bill Farnsworth’s illustration help younger readers visualize the story making it real.
I highly recommend The Klondike Kid for your young adventurers!
